A Book Worth Staying Up All Night To Read

Last night I was up all night reading.
I started reading and did not stop until the story had ended.

Scrambled Eggs At Midnight By Brad Barkley

Here is the review that best says why I was ekpt from sleep by this book!

Scrambled Eggs at Midnight, September 25, 2006
A Kid's Review
Scrambled eggs at midnight was a very good book. I liked how it was about the romance between two strangers at the age of fifteen. One day Eliot was walking down the street and a car went passed, with a beautiful red haired girl in it. and that was the first time he ever saw Calliope. After that Eliot sees her in random places. I really liked how this book always kept me interested. It was one of those books that are hard to put down. And since the characters were about my age it was easy to relate to. Eliot and Calliope get to know each other better and they start spending a lot of time together. But then Calliope's mom says they are going to move. And Eliot and Calliope try everything to change her mom's mind. This book was probably one of the best that i've ever read. But my all time favorite book would have to be Crank.
I prefer to read books where teenagers are the main characters because i think they are easier to relate to. And i also think they are more interesting. I also liked that in Scrambled Eggs at Midnight each chapter went back and forth with Calliope and Eliot speaking. You really get to see both of their points of view on each other. Another book I'm interested in is speak. I liked how she expressed her feelings in that book. I would recommend any of these three books for you to read. They were all very good and they kept me interested. But in Scrambled Eggs at Midnight i liked how both Calliope and Eliot told you everything they thought about and it was what any teenager really thinks. it was the kind of book where you could picture everything in your head while you were reading

 Whats Cookin

For those who'd like to try it.

 Gingerbread Pancakes

3 eggs

1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1/2 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup water

1/4 cup brewed coffee

2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour (you can substitute half the flour for rolled oats)

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon ground cloves

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon ginger

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

4 tablespoons butter, melted

Cream together the eggs and brown sugar. Add the buttermilk, water and coffee, and stir until smooth. Set aside. In a separate container, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cloves, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. Combine the egg mixture with the flour mixture, and stir in the melted butter. Makes about 3-1/2 cups of batter, or enough for 8 to 10 pancakes.

Served along side breakfast sausage and fruit this is a yummy cold weather breakfast or lunch! Got to go or I will get crumbs on the Keyboard!

 Offering Help

I know the heart crushing pain of learning that there is an "in crowd" and of knowing how hurtful mean and terrible those people can turn on you and be. In school I was bullied nearly everyday. Arm your self with informaton, hold your ground even when the same people try to crush you with the same hateful words. I just hope that this entry can help someone in some small way.

Office cliques: unethical or just natural? By Carlton Vogt

Quote:
No sooner do I pick my way -- successfully I hope -- through one minefield, than a reader nudges me into another one.
One possible reaction would be to adopt the position of Generation W (these are the people whose answer to everything is "Whatever") and tell the writer that it's his tough luck and he should "just get over it." Life is unfair, they say, so stop being a victim. But being older and raised to be more considerate of people, I think we need to determine what's going on.

Warning: Office cliques can ruin workplace morale

Quote:
They feel disenfranchised and angry, but powerless to change the culture that exists.

MedZilla probes into cliques in the workplace

Quote:
Cliques defined
Cliques are support groups made up of people who believe in the same things. One of the characteristics of cliques is that they exist where there is no conflict resolution process-there's no formal place people can resolve their differences. "Healthcare is so filled with ambiguity," Jones says. "Healthcare still hasn't figured out if it's a right or a commodity. Some people treat it as if people should get health care regardless of their ability to pay, and others feel it's for sale and those that can afford the best get the best. Both arguments have legitimacy. Neither has been resolved. Whenever you have ambiguity, people want to know which is right. When there's no way to formally determine which is right and which is wrong, people form cliques with people who believe in the same things they do."

Cliques aren't always bad. They can foster people's desire to belong. Problems occur, however, when cliques support policies that administration doesn't support. Cliques that go against management's will often become a detriment to the organization.

Dealing with Cliques in the Workplace

Quote:
In almost every human situation, likes and dislikes, alliances and exclusions start manifesting themselves. You may find yourself dealing with unseen barriers between groups that are reluctant to help one another, don't share information, and sometimes even actively hinder another person or group's success.
